Paul Smith + The Rug Company: Stripe and Swirl
The latest instalment in our long-running collaboration with The Rug Company is a dazzling ode to the Paul Smith stripe in its many forms. The rugs are presented in a series of dream-like, AI-generated gallery spaces.
The collection’s two other designs – Spectra and Parachute – take a more abstracted approach to our particular visual language. Against a base of neutral wool, the Spectra rug features small rectangles of hand-knotted silk thread in bands of bright colour, each one like an ultra-condensed version of our famously vibrant stripe. The Parachute rug – available in two colourways – recalls a handmade patchwork, with a charmingly imprecise approach to line and shape.
